Featured Hyp-Yoga Expert

Interview with Carly Cummings
How did Hyp-Yoga start? Hyp-Yoga was born out of two of my passions that were destined to be together – hypnotherapy and yoga. I had already been a yoga instructor for 5 years when I journeyed into a certification in hypnosis. I would meet with hypnosis clients for weight loss, smoking cessation, and stress relief at a local studio and we would go through an hour of discussion and hypnotherapy. These sessions were successful, but I knew that there was something that my sessions were missing that would greatly benefit my clients.
It dawned on me that during our sessions we were tapping into the mind, but we were not taking full advantage of the mind/body connection. After sitting in a chair for an hour, my clients were relaxed, but some of them (especially my weight loss clients) were still missing that connection with their body – how to move in their bodies and better translate the mind changes into actual behaviors. Plus, yoga was a fantastic way to quickly prepare students to be able to go into a deeper level of hypnosis. This is because yoga teaches us to open our bodies and clear our minds, which leads into a much more successful yoga session. It was the perfect match.
How has Hyp-Yoga benefited your life?
I am in love with Hyp-Yoga's classes. I am always amazed about how much of what I deal with on a daily basis is affected by my subconscious thought processes. I can tell when I have gone too long without a class - my attitude changes, I start losing energy and lacking motivation to be healthy and productive. It just takes one session now and I am back on my feet with more drive and feeling refreshed.
I have learned to keep my body healthy with Hyp-Yoga. I can control many of my physical stress reactions with Hyp-Yoga. I have made myself my own Hyp-Yoga mp3/CD to do for my personal stress response (acid reflux) and it really works for me. I also need Hyp-Yoga for keeping my diet and exercise on track.
